The guy would've had 30 goals over 82 games this year, how does he kill the value? I'm confused.

Pat Kane signing a league minimum contract should be seen as a fireable offense by any team hoping to contend.

Pesce’s return is Tuch or Peterka +. Otherwise Don Mega hangs up the phone

Because hockey is a lot more than shooting shots. He generates little offense, plays very little defense, and isn’t a great skater. He would be a very expensive 4th liner / bench piece for us. No value

Is Don Mega going back to his general mismanagement days of the Atlanta Thrashers?

Lotta hyperbole on the board. Olofsson has fallen out of favor with many Sabres fans because he isn't a good defensive winger, which is ironic when you consider that most sabres fans are happy with Skinner at 9 million, at least right now, a guy who nobody will confuse with Mark stone or Jere lehtonen. Olofsson is the new whipping boy, I think most teams have one, so he's the guy that many Sabres fans have being moved for anything from a second round pick to a box of fresh Wyoming air. Carolina fans like to point out that rod would have no patience for that. Most teams fans don't want those prorated 30 goals, even at 50% retained, at least on here. He's gonna end up forced out here, the fans like to blame him, and there are several young forwards waiting for his job. Also ironically, the one guy who many fans have penciled in for olofsson, kulich, has some defensive deficiencies of his own. Hopefully olofsson winds up with a team that needs offense, that has a decent two-way center to pair him with, just needs the right fit. Back to the op, unfortunately it's not close. The winger market is soft, and olofsson is a complimentary player that does one thing well. Pesce is a right shot d, probably one of the best defensive d in the game, and a guy that would fit really well with Owen Power, allowing him to take more chances. Pesce would need an extension for it to make sense, but the cost to acquire him would be significant.

Over the past four seasons Boeser has scored 80 goals while playing in 258 games.
The Sabres' Victor Olofsson has played in 257 games over the past four seasons and has 81 goals yet he is only valued as a third while his salary is nearly $2,000,000 lower than Brock's.
Let me add, over that same perios Brock has scored 1.013 goals/60 while Olofsson has scored every 1.171/60
Most ACGM's think Boeser is worth a first yet Olofsson is trash?

Olofsson is DeBrincat LITE, in fact Olofsson outscored DeBrincat 28 to 27 last year.

Hold your breath until you get that return for a UFA.
This is about the max that Buffalo should give up for a player who could walk away after one year.

The Cat lite is just silly. Olofsson isn’t a good skater which is very important in this league and Olofsson is actually worse defensively than Cat.

Buffalo is more than free to keep their winger they benched when trying to win.

Nobody associated with the Canes wants Olofsson. Stop mocking him to us. Besides the fact that Pesce is worth a lot more than that dude and a 2nd round pick.

So apparently guys need to score more then 30 goals now to have value...

I'm at a loss for words honestly.

Whatever goals Olofsson may score, and I don't knock his production value at all, this trade leaves a giant hole on the right side of our top 4 D. And we other options for middle 6 scoring. This would be poor value for Carolina.

guy needs to do more than just receive a pass and take a shot to have value in the league. his is very one dimensional and doesnt have skating to create space either.

one dimensional players dont play in Carolina under RBA, see Skinner and Dzingel.
