Seeing Tampas continued dismemberment isnt enjoyable, even if theyre not a team I would normally cheer for. The hard salary cap has killed the chance of a dynasty ever occurring again.
While that pick for Colton would be equivalent to a late 1st rounder in most years... its still netting a prospect thats 2 years minimum away from contributing at the NHL level.
Define "very deep". And then compare that to "deep", which is what I said.

I know, People think the first 2wo round will be all top six fwds and top pairing dmen and staring goalies. Get a grip folks, beyond the top 22, it's a crap shoot.
And, no one even knows for sure.. so to speak so confidently about something that experts whom make it their job YET say isnt an exact science, that is hilarious. Newhook is a know entity. Its a smart gamble. There is no secret prize.

Get over it. This is the point of the site.
Ppl really need to get outside. I always wonder if i'd even post here if it wasnt for the pandemic and becoming a somewhat 'regular'
Things happen and it doesnt always mean some are wrong, sometimes, it's just happenstance.

I never said that. HOWEVER, in most years, past the top five it becomes a crap shoot.
I previously used the year 2000 as an example. In that year, two of the top five never become truly impact players. Four of the top ten never played more than one full season in the NHL.

Jesus Christ, the projection with your two. You think this years draft is 10 to 15 spots better up to the 22nd pick ... and then reverts to normal after that? Do you know how rare it is for a player in the slots 10 through 15 to be projected to be a 1st line / top-pair player? I think you two are just overestimating the value of past draft picks and therefore assume the buzz here is normal.
These projections have players up to 38th place being middle-six players. That's incredibly rare. They have up to 77th place playing at least some NHL games. Historically, players drafted in the second round only have a one in three chance of playing more than 100 games in the NHL. They have players up to the early third doing that and another 70 that should at least play some NHL games.
