    Value of the deal aside, I can't see them trading that far up and targeting a winger who won't be here for another three years. I'd see them taking whichever of Smith, Carlsson, Dvorsky are left.

    According to The Athletic, their beat writer doesn't see them trading outside of the top 8, but I'd love if we could swing big and get 5OA. Don't think we'd be willing to part with the assets it would take though (probably Boldy). Rossi doesn't have the type of value he used to.

    That's hilarious considering you have about a 20% chance the 5th OA in this draft is more productive by age 21 than Boldy has been.

    Well, considering that it would be Michkov's rookie year, having comparable production to Boldy would be very impressive. Not saying it makes sense for the Wild to make that trade, just that it's the only price that makes sense for Montreal given their timeline, needs, the assets that Minnesota has.
