Hawks decline. They wouldn't give up one 2nd for those two players, let alone two.

Why are they doing nothing?

1. Flames are waiting for Lindholm to decide if he wants to extend.
2. Flames are likely waiting for the Karlsson trade to happen, when it does the team who doesn't get EK will be calling about Hanifin.
3. Teams are waiting for the UFA goalie market to sort itself out before making a trade for a goalie.
4. Flames have no cap space until trades are made.

Answer. Teams are capped out. They signed UFAs with their cap instead of trading futures for all those Calgary upcoming UFAs...,and other teams upcoming UFAs.
Now you might get a return at TDL...when the cap isn't as much to take on, and contending teams are looking for a playoff run.

I think the pieces available from Boston are the ones you listed plus Frederic and Gryz. But I think the Bruins can only give up one of Lysell and DeBrusk just because it’s raiding the same position. The total value of that offer is higher than I would pay, but who the **** knows. I would counter with 1st, Frederic, Lysell.

We can get better trades for Hanafin and Lindholm around the deadline.

The deadline is when teams overpay too. That’s why it makes no sense for many of these rumoured big trades to take place this summer.
