I don’t understand why NSH would need to be the middle man for a Peace-Karlsson trade unless they were the ones retaining the cap. Then it would make sense.

The way you have it, CAR could easily just make the swap with SJS without NSH being involved.

Yeah I can’t see why the Sharks would say no to that great offer for Karlsson lol.

Canes say no. Lose Trikizov, a 1st and Pesce and not having Karlsson 75% retained is unrealistic. Carolina don't have room at 7 for Karlsson is the Tarasenko thing is true after factoring in the DeAngelo deal that will be done on Saturday

Why are the Oilers adding or even considering?

Because they're dumping salary?

I think they're done dumping. The cap savings, making the team bad equation is good'ish.
It's unlikely Edmonton can move out enough money to sign Bouchard or McLeod to long term deals without also making the team worse now.
Foegele is the best option at the right price to cover in case the Oilers need Nuge playing centre, Brown takes a bit getting going, or Holloway has trouble.
But, Kulak B4 McLovin for 2.75 in savings IMO with Broberg to replace and Nemo, Dineen both have NHL games

That's cool. Jankowski was surprisingly quite good for NSH last season, and seems to have a lot of the character Trotz wants more of. I wouldn't be eager to replace him with Foegele.

Foegele v Jankowski
You should. But Edmonton would never consider the deal.

I looked up Nashville's 5v5 scoring to see that only Novak, Forsberg and Evangelista outscored Foegele at 5v5 P/60 last year.

It'll be interesting to see (a) if Novak can repeat last year and (b) what he returns at the deadline next year.
