Well played on that Buffalo trade, Campbell term may get people saying no, but has to be rather close for values. Gets Comrie home for a year, and a solid depth dman and get rid of Campbell contract. Interesting

Can’t see why Buffalo would ever do this. Buffalo is going to take a run at playoffs this year and it doesn’t make sense for them to take on 5m salary for the next 4 years on a goalie who had terrible numbers this last season

Why would we trade Arvidsson?

Buffalo could use a veteran goaltender on the squad. Campbell had a bad year but could bounce back and be a great pairing with Levi.

Campbell isn’t a veteran goalie lol he’s only been a starter for a couple years. There’s tons of veteran goalies out there for league minimum salary. This never happens

Trade rumours say LA would like to move him. Kulak would be a great 3rd pair with Clarke and has term at a good cap hit.

The only reason the Kings would move Arvidsson is for the cap space. If they do decide to move him, all they want back is draft picks and/or prospects.

I think for the Sabres to take on Campbells contract that 2nd pick needs to be a 1st.

Using Andrew Ladd's $5,500,000 two year AVV as an example, (2021-Jul-17 Traded from New York Islanders with round 2 pick in the 2021 draft (J.J. Moser), conditional round 2 pick in the 2022 draft (Mattias Havelid) and conditional round 3 pick in the 2023 draft (Tanner Ludtke) to Arizona Coyotes for future considerations) the Islanders had to add 2 seconds and a third for Arizona to take Ladd.
Right now four years of Campbell's $5,000,000 salary could cost 4 seconds and 2 thirds.
That would be equal to '24 1st, '24 2nd and '25 3rd.

Edmonton would be better off waiting a year to buy him out or hope he could resurect his mojo.

Better be a better pick or a better prospect coming in that Campbell deal for that to happen IMO

Jack Campbell has been given two opportunities to be a starting goalie: once in Toronto, and once in Edmonton. He failed in both. Buffalo won't be giving him a "third-time-charm" opportunity.

Good comparison but Ladd was washed up and older at the time. I wouldn’t say Campbell is washed up just yet.

Campbell did well in Toronto. That’s what earned him a 5x5 contract.

Trevor Moore is set to replace arvidsson once his contract is over. LA should move him before that to get some assets but currently LA could use another defensemen.

You're missing the point. They very well might trade Arvidsson. If they do, they're not taking a defenseman back. They'll run with Bjornfot and Clarke and use the extra cap space so they can carry a 23 man roster. Currently they can only fit 21 without going over the cap.

Which “trade rumor?” Do you have a source? And Arvidsson is miles better than Kulak. If Kulak and Arvidsson are the players going to be traded. You’re gonna need to add a 2nd rounder but unfortunately your earliest 2nd rounder available is 2026.

So what I would do is

Oilers 2024 1st Round Pick
Kulak

LA Kings 3rd + 5th
Arvidsson
