That is the only trade here that the Leafs don't lose by a huge margin. But let's say Samsonov and Hart are a wash, that means you are getting 2 1sts and 2 decent young players with upside for a retained Konecny, that's not a bad return for someone who's not very good defensively and really has 1 really good year under his belt (one in which he had startlingly bad defensive metrics).

What do you expect for a top 6 winger (likely closer to a 2nd line winger) who's scored 30 goals just once and generally averages out for about 60 points or less? You aren't trading some superstar here.

I expect better than 2 late 1sts and 2 throw aways. I would rather have a mid 1st and a premium prospect than the garage above. Quality over quantity. Flyers have plenty of quantity at every position they need quality to boost the rebuild.

Who's going to give up a premium prospect for a non premium player. Konecny is a good secondary player, he's no superstar and a premium prospect you hope becomes that. Maybe lower your expectations.

Grams is a premium prospect now? He's been okay in the AHL at 21 years old. He's hardly a premium prospect. No more than Robertson is. Both 2nd round picks, one scored at a nearly historic pace in the OHL while the other is big. Ur just convincing yourself to make yourself feel good. Have fun lol

A big player that played well in the AHL and has 2nd pairing potential is a pretty good asset. A player who can score when healthy but is constantly injured is nothing because he can’t stay on the ice. Defenseman develop at a slower rate than forwards but if you actually knew hockey you would know that. Leafs fans overrating their players is a tale as old as time lol

More self justification. If Grans is a premium prospect, why not ask for Niemela instead, because he's way better of a prospect than Grans. Grans only made the swedish world junior team once and wasn't one of their top defenceman. Neimela went to the worlds twice and was named the top defenceman.
