I don't think you understand what the term "blue chip" means.

Lucas Raymond was a blue chip prospect for example. Hanas is not.

If we trade Nylander. At minimum that 2nd round pick would need to be upgraded to a 1st. I would still be severely disappointed by that trade though.

I've been on this website for a decent amount of time and I can honestly say that is the worst trade I've ever seen in my entire life. The amount of moronic behavior that has been displayed is absolutely remarkable

If Hanas is blue chip, what the heck are Edvinsson, Casper and Danielson?

I would struggle to label any of those guys blue chip either. A tier for sure. I consider blue chip/S tier -1 level higher than that. I would accept the argument on those 3 guys though.

I'm not calling Hanas a blue chip; his name is just tossed around so much on this website it's funny.

As for not calling Edvinsson, Kasper, and Danielson blue-chip; that's a bit egregious. I'd throw Pellikka in there, too. I'll be going through the prospects and my expectations and ceilings once I get home from the gym. I

Where’s the value in this deal for Toronto? At bare minimum a deadline Nylander deal gets what DeBrincat just got and this ain’t it.

Rasmussen - interesting piece, has some value but is likely a middle 6 player. Could be in a deal but can’t be the main piece or it’s a massive loss for Toronto.

Perron - pending UFA. He’d be a pure rental in Toronto and honestly he’s just not that good, he’s an average player that’s a dime a dozen to find.

Hanas - not a very good prospect. Just because a player “blows up the AHL) - which frankly he hasn’t with only 17 points in 30 games - but regardless, doesn’t mean he’s a blue chip prospect, he’s actually not. He has a very little shot at being a NHL regular in his career. He doesn’t have much value at all

Oh I know you didn't. It was the original poster who did in his trade description. I was just talking to you about it :P.

And fair. For the Leafs I would classify Knies as A tier. I struggle to label him a blue chipper though. Niemela/Minten are B+ to A- tier. Detroit definitely has better prospects (all the guys you listed there are in the Knies category or above)

I just don't tend to label very many blue chip.

Bold prediction time - Ras is going to score at least 20 and get at least 50 points next season. Put it on the board!

That's fair. None of these guys will play top-line, but that's just due to team structure. I'd put Kasper above plenty of teams' top prospects, but he's no more than a 2C. Edvinsson could easily be a top pairing LD, but having an Edvinsson-Seider top pairing has too much defense and not enough offense.
Ironically, that'd leave our 2nd pairing (Wallinder-Pellikka) with the contrast problem of too much offense and not enough defense.
I'm not sure on Danielson, but looking quickly at his stats and then his team; he certainly seems underrated.
Played with only 1 other NHL draft pick who looks to be going no where.

Not only is this not even close for Nylander, how do the Wings sign any of their RFAs once Nylander's contract kicks in.

Please, use your brain.
