Very strange ... you take Kuznetsov in fact for a 2-round pick (that is, cheap), but put him in the center of the first link. So do you believe in him or not? It is either expensive and bad, or good but expensive.

As a Sabers fan I feel for the Flames Fans it seems like this is the new team that no one wants to play for. I were the Flames GM I would use the Sabers Model and trade for local players or people fighting to stay in the NHL. If I where going to trade for a Saber I would go for Krebs and start the rebuild/retool from there.

The problem for Calgary and any other team wanting Krebs is that the Sabres have no plans to trade him.

Tuch is the hart and soul of the team and in the unofficial captain. So what ever they would give up it would hurt and cripple the team. Just for Tuch I would say it would start with Huberdeau with retention, Hanafina, and 1st

Tuch is an untouchable and the heartbeat of the team they're building - no amount of draft picks or prospects is going to change that.

Less than zero reason for WSH to make that trade. With retention Kuznetsov will cost a lot more than a mid-2nd and career AHLer.

It doesn't matter if they have a plan I believe that GM given the right offer would trade almost anyone on the team. If Ken Holland was drunk one night and offer McDavid one for one Krebs I'm sure the deal would be sign before he was sober
