Pens can’t accept fast enough, but if that package could get Karlsson the deal would’ve been done a month ago.

Blues aren’t paying a second round pick for someone who averages around 10-15 per season.

Pittsburgh is asking for retention close to 40% so that’s why it’s not working well.

Dunno, man. Offense is not the point of acquiring Ferraro.

None of the three teams involved are satisfied with the deals on the table, that’s why Karlsson remains a Shark.

Yeah it's pretty clear they've never actually seen him play. He had a brutal year because Benning was paired with Vlasic all season and EK was paried with Megna/Knyzhov all season,
Ferraro was paired with literally every other 7th D-man that filtered through the roster. No consistent partner + paired with bad/average players isn't exactly a recipe for success.

Regardless, all of these are so bad for the Sharks

Just the nonstop Petry to Detroit trades that don't make a lot of sense for us since we have a full roster. If we wanted Petry, we likely would have acquired him from Montreal.

Ferraro was also bad when he got to play with Burns, so I don’t buy the argument that he was bad because of his partner.

We would have to send scandella back in this, would we not?

Got it. I remembered a while back Detroit fans saying they needed a right shot D, but that was a while ago. Detroit can be replaced with any team Petry would waive for. I have to think there’d be some interest in him at 50% retained.

Again, that's something someone would say who's never watched him and just looked up his stats.

I watch most of the Sharks games, so I think we’re just going to have to agree to disagree. I just look at the sharks left handed d log jam and Ferraro makes the most sense to move right now and I think a 2nd would be a realistic return for him.

We did, could possibly now but the only way I think we are involved in Petry is if we move Chiarot, and that contract is probably not moveable. The value is fine with the retention though and I personally wouldn't mind him, it just seems unlikely now.

I agree with the LD logjam but MacDonald and Simek are the one's who should be traded/scratched over Ferraro.

You don’t trade for ferrrao for that reason,
If leddy is moved this is a great trade

Macdonald is an AHL level player. You’re not getting anything of value back for him. If Simek was tradable he would have been gone by now. Nobody’s giving up anything for a 7th defenseman who has a cap hit of $2.25 million.

Moving Ferraro now makes sense because the Sharks are in the early stages of a rebuild. You can get a good asset back for him, while also freeing up playing time for some of the younger guys like Thrun, Okhotyuk, and Mukhamadullin.

Yeah, I'm not saying they should try and get anything for those guys. I'm saying they should dump them to make room for those younger guys.

Ferraro is only 24. You're selling low on him. Dude was one of the best shot blockers in the league a year ago and is a great skater. There's a lot of potential improvement there
