Yeah I think that this is a reasonable offer for the offseason escpecially if you sweeten it with a additional late pick for 2024. However, If the Bruins do plan on moving Ullmark they arent going to do it for cap reasons this offseason. They have better options for freeing up cap space for Swayman and Fredric contracts, like freeing up forborts contract via trade or buyout, or trading grz if the deal is sweet enough on our end. They have made it clear that they have no need to force any goalie trades especially when both still want to play here. I imagine if a trade is going to happen its going to be at the deadline for a team who really needs some goaltending and are willing to drop a first round pick.

I know we’re only 3 weeks into free agency, but I think the big moves Fitzy is done with. I see him signing Bahl to a decent contract, signing 2-3 players for Utica and maybe 1 or 2 PTO for training camp.

You believe it's perfectly reasonable because your perception of reality is skewed. Why would Boston trade Ullmark for another goalie? It makes no sense. A 2nd is okay in the package, but the prospect coming back doesn't even move the needle.

It's gaining a 2nd rounder (and cap space) to downgrade from Ullmark to Vanecek on the assumption that Swayman is ready for the starter job.

It's not enough to trade Ullmark. That's essentially giving away an asset at an extremely discounted rate for no reason.

This would have been an offer to make before free agency. It would have been to make room for Bertuzzi. Now, they are in a position to get under the cap and have room next year.

I think we just disagree on what Vanecek, Casey, and Ullmark are worth. I'm a big believer in Casey, but I understand most people aren't.

I understand those players have value, it's just not what the Bruins would trade Ullmark to obtain. If they trade Ullmark they keep Swayman long term and don't need VV. The organizational depth at RHD is immense, negating the value of Casey.
