They will need to moved Joesph, and the construct of this package isn't horrible. I would balk at moving the 1st if the return is LA's 2nd, but if that were made into Chicago's 2nd..... I might noodle it.

The move down the draft would be about 15 spots or so..... and Entwistle would be a 4th line upgrade for the Sens while grabbing an additional pick.

I think there is something to this package.

I'm open to adjustments. I'm obviously not an NHL gm. Hawks 2nd might be tough because of all the "extra" stuff like potential Offer Sheet...etc... , BUT VAN's is right there. I actually think they'll be one of the worst teams in the NHL next year.

I would consider Vancouver's as well. I think the point is LA's 2nd would be sliding back too far. Joseph has value..... the contract isn't that gross.

Can't see the Hawks making either of the trades. Not enough value in either deal for Hawks to take on either Campbell or Joseph.

Yes but Dorion would be etxremely stupid to use 75% of DeBrincat's return to dump Joseph's 3 M$ overpayment over the next 3 years

The only way it makes sense would be that the DET pick ends up very late via Boston's and that the 2nd in return is Chicago's like you said

You wouldn't want to get an additional 1st? wow ok

And that pick has actually chances to not be late considering what has been going on with Boston

Joseph overpayment is very small. If you have cap space, it's a no brainer

Doubt the hawks would be willing to make such friendly deals when they basically have a monopoly on cap space and so many teams need to dump some cap before the season starts.

DET has a choice between the two picks. I very much doubt it'll be in the teens or even early 20s, but we'll see. I don't have a crystal ball.

Dorian got Tarasenko "for free"...trade value wise. I think he'd use that as his justification.

Edmonton declines. They have enough cap space to sign their last 2 RFA's, they don't need to create more at the moment.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that, I can see Bouchard getting in the same ballpark as Byram ($3.85m) and McLeaod getting similar or better then Kurashev ($2.25m), if that happens they are over the cap.

I would also expect them to trade Foegele or Ceci before Campbell.

Why use Kurashev and not McBain? And even if McLeod gets $2.25M they can lower Bouchard's AAV by signing a 1 year deal instead. Lots of options to look at before trading their 1RD or another good player, or their 1B as a cap dump.

McBain has one full year of NHL experience whereas Kurashev and McLeod have both played parts of three season with comparable stats, you can even make the argument that McLeod has produced at a better per game rate.

As Bouchard he could agree to a one year deal at a team friendly rate OR he could also hold firm and demand more then Byram based off his solid playoff stats and increased role on the team with the trading of Barrie.

We'll see but maybe both Detroit and Boston finish bottom-15, which would make it a good pick
