Honestly, probably. We might regret 6 years down the road, but Petty will continue to be amazing for the next 10 years

Depends. IF Petty pulls a Tkachuk, and VAN are unable to get a player swap, they won’t be getting much better than this in terms of futures

This is a VERY interesting proposal, it would expedite the rebuild by a lot but with a possibility to regret it if either reach their ceilings. Opinions are biased on high high you think the potential of Slafkovsky and Reinbacher is. Idk why the Canucks would do this though, it’s incredibly risky.

Petey wouldn't pull a Tkachuk because Petey isn't an unparented uneducated 10 year old like the brat bros.

Going to be honest, Slaf will never once come close to 100 points in a season in his career. Rienbacher really is the risk here because if he pans out to be good it will suck, but im not going to act like a 100 point scorer is "settling" in trade terms for a player who has never played and a guy who has only played i think 40 ish games. The risk reward factor is nearly bigger for the nucks here cause if petey is a 90-100 point guy, they obviously do not grow on trees

That the thing, Caufield / Suzuki is almost an permanent duo and while Pettersson would be awesome to complete the top 6, what mtl need is an winger able to play with the duo and boost them.

A Newhook or Slafkovsky or Dach or another winger to complete the trio would be better.

On the short term Monahan could make the second line center or if Dach is able to growth is faceoff ability the top two center position will be fill for years.
