That’s an awful trade for the Leafs. Dvorak isn’t good. A 2025 1st and cap dump doesn’t get a 1st line winger

If you know Nylander won’t extend, would you still do it ?

Leafs like the trade much better if Dvorak wasn't included in the deal.

Yes, Ofcourse
Retaining Salary on Nylander at the TDL brings him to 3.45m i think?
We can deffinately get something good for him as a rental.
If we pay someone else to RS a 1st and 2nd round pick package will be easy to get.

I mean VGK or NYR or FLA for example if they can get Nylander at the TDL from MTL with a 2nd team RS bringing the cap to 1.725m
I mean is it worth the gamble given CGY is rebuilding and its unprotected? Not Really ,no
But we get rid of Dvorak without RS for the extra year .
Is that worth giving up a possible top 5 pick ? Not really but we can always just top 10 protect it
TML still gets likely a 10th-20th OA pick an upgrade on the Late 1st and 2nd round picks they'd get at the TDL

Overall though its better for all involved to just deal with their own problems at the TDL lol

So, you've covered Dvorak, where's the package for Willy?

Nylander at 50% retained would bring back the biggest deadline return in a super long time.

Im sure it will
But all late 1sts ,2nds ,3rds, ext
All Quantity

Im all for that usually
But CGY is in a weird situation where they went from Buyers trying to avoid a rebuild
To having everyone basically pass on playing for Craig Conroy for some weird reason i dont get, but it leaves us in a good position with this Pick.

In the end we can get depth pieces for Dvorak at 50% RS
Contenders arent giving up huge packages for anyone at the TDL unless its Futures
That said im sure CGY would be a good option if you're selling this low
They got some pieces they got to move to create Conroy/Iginla's Roster.
I mean Lindholm for Nylander just seems to make sense

TO us going to resign Nylander and Matthews before the season and this will sort of end. Until Marner isn't signed immediately on July 1 next year. Then it'll be the same people on here posting horrendous Marner trades for however long it takes to get his deal done.

Why do people think Kampf isn't the leafs 3C? They can't watch the games or don't understand hockey.
