Tampa Bay declines. Retain half and maybe Tampa has interest.

Did you even bother to look at how much Dallas have cap space / room for more D-men?

The answer is zero to both. Petry to Stars works only if DAL ships someone (Suter) out, and that's not happening.

Petry is going to CBJ for Boqvist and a pick. Fits both GMs MO. Hughes going for the young project and Jarmo wants to compete right meow! Petry is closer to home so he will waive and Columbus has the cap space with a need on the right unless you think Gudbransson is a top4 lmao

I wouldn't trust Johansson

So you just send players wherever regardless of cap? Making a trade that requires a team to make another trade is awful cap management unless it a guy sooo good you can't pass on it.

Technically they can waive Hanley & Bayreuther, and trade Hakanpaa separately and they'd be good to go

Bolts aren't spending more than $1m max on a backup. And unless Vasy gets hurt, it's only 20 games anyway.

Absolutely pointless endeavor.

Interesting idea but I don’t see why Columbus would have to add a pick, a straight swap would make more sense IMO.

Tampa would absolutely be interested in DeSmith, but retaining half is mandatory in their situation. They cannot feel comfortable with Jonas Johansson as their backup on a team that doesn’t have a lot of depth and loads of cap constraints.

I’m also not sure if they want to part with the little draft capital they do have.
