That hawks trade is next level awful. Brodie is way better than Murphy and I would keep Liljegren over him as well. You're paying a huge price to make the team worse.

That kind of negativity isn't necessary (j/k)! Hawks accept before Rip steals our joy lol. I agree 100% this is a massive overpay.

Necas has as much value as Nylander, if not more. 15 points less, but 3 years younger, half the cap hit, and team control being an RFA not UFA this summer. Why is Carolina adding Pesce? No

Paying for cap space over three years is going to cost a premium. But yeah probably a bit too much, which is a good thing. Hopefully Treliving can make it happen!

Making the team worse to have extra cap space isn't smart. Why not make the team better.

Murphy > Brodie, and even more come playoff time. Bigger, stronger, hits more, younger, signed for longer. And overall we are better because we can afford other good defenseman/forwards.

Murphy is not better than Brodie. And he isn't all that physical either. No more than Holl was. And he's not that good defensively, McCabe was better on Chicago than he was and he's not that good.
