Buffalo has 9 defensemen and have no need to pay for retention

Yeah, No way Krebs is involved and don't need you to retain.

Tanev is better than Petry but Krebs is much better than a Gustav

Don't you want Hanifin? Maybe Duclair without Retention?

You really think he's worth all that?
He wouldn't resign in SJS and doesn't fit the timeline.

SJ is not trading a top 5 pick, a guy who can fetch a 2nd at the TDL, and a solid prospect for an impeding UFA Dman, especially when LHD is the least of present and future concerns.

Please add Eklund & Will Smith to the Hanifin trade. Then it will make sense /s

Coyle is younger than Backlund but Backlund is quite a bit better than Coyle. I get that he might not be the right fit since Backlund plays a similar shutdown role but Backlund is absolutely capable of centering a top 6 line

Ya I just don’t see Boston giving up lysell for him. I’d rather see what lysell can do or package him for a u30 1C

Not arguing that. Just that Backlund is consistently in Selke voting so he's absolutely a cut above Coyle. Backlund is more on par with JEE and Danault

Why would Hanifin sign here? We're rebuilding. He likely wants to play for a contender.

Are you saying Dahlin is better than Hanifin?

Jesus no. I’m saying you think hanifin is worth a haul ( a top 5 pick, a top 6 prospect and a top six winger) when he absolutely isn’t worth half of that
