I'd hold off what the rebuild would look like posts until 87 71 58, and now 65 all are no longer part of the team it could be 2 years from now when 87's contract is up it could be 5 years from now when 58's up. Who knows what this team will look like by then.

For the record I remember people saying we should blow it up and trade 87, 71, 58, and 29 prior to the B2B cups.

This post was an idea for what it would look like in 2-3 years, not right now… I’m not suggesting a rebuild, this is just the type of thing and the type of players I see is trading once we miss the playoffs a couple times… that way our veterans like Sid and Co will mentor the young players in their last season or two

Most of these look like they gigantically favor the Pens

What is LA getting here to warrant giving up either of Pinelli or a 1st, let alone both?

Just general ideas for the future, obviously no one knows the future but this is just in general the type of returns I would expect for these players
I based this off past trades between teams… as far as where these players went, that would depend on demand and need

The athletic ranked him as the #8 prospect, so it didn’t seem to me as if he were anything immensely special… it was more, this is the general type of return pit could get for X player…
Lak gets a 30 goal winger who drives play no matter what line he plays on and a young Mobile defender

I do not see the Pens really ever putting the main core into mentor type roles except in maybe their last season in the league (again we do not know when that will be just that its coming sooner rather than later). I look for Pens to more than likely retain Jake unless he formally requests a trade. Rust again a player who would prefer to stay in Pittsburgh than move (reason why he was given a full NMC the first 3 years of this contract). Everyone else at that point could probably be moved for best value is Dubas sees fit.

If the Kings wanted a $5M 30-goal winger beyond this season, they'd just re-sign Arvidsson and keep all their assets.

Pinelli is one of the Kings best prospects. He's probably their best remaining center prospect. I'm sure they'd be willing to trade someone else like Madden, ****emo, or Thomas.

There's no way LA is giving up a 1st or Pinelli in this exchange.

The athletic ranked him at #8 so I was thinking he was like a B-or C+ prospect like middle of the pack type
Yeah no worries, just spitballing

Rust isn't worth that now, he won't be worth that in 2-3 years time.

A few seasons ago I would've given up a 2nd and maybe a decent prospect for Rust, but he's 31 and that contract isn't horrible but it's also a long way from good,
