You're not getting Bolduc, and certainly not for such a terrible offer. Dear lord. What is happening here today?

MTL doesnt want to speed up its Rebuild at Center and screw ourselves .
Dach would be getting his payday just as Newhook and Pinto need paydays.

I like Ambidextrous Faceoff Center Owen Beck who's a Pest and plays hard nosed hockey.
He was the Final Scratch at last years camp and has amazing Chemistry with Lane Hutson.
Its one of the reasons he's worth investing in over Kidney and Kappanen we both Value a lot.
But they're on the outside looking in similar to Pinto in OTT behind all their depth.

Boston has no interest in Dvorak let alone for a first round pick.... we have Charlie Coyle already thanks.

Ces échanges sont mauvais. OTT dit non; Pinto est très bon et le retour est très pas.

Blues have no need for DeSmith and I'd rather just keep Bolduc since he is further along in his progression and has played well in the Juniors

Yea we all know this isn’t happening but is bolduc really that much better than Mesar, I don’t know his game but he was a higher end First I’m pretty such

Bolduc is a fringe NHL'r his game doesnt translate to the pros. A ton of players have put up numbers in the Q in their draft+2 seasons. He doesnt compete. Dont see why the Habs give up on the better prospect with better tools. Riley Kidney put up better numbers in the Habs system and he isnt on Mesar's level either.

OK sounds good. I think Bolduc's game can translate but to each their own

That’s a wildly hot take with 0 supporting evidence outside of personal opinion.

Evidence. Oh funny you say that. Let Corey Pronman take it from here. Zach Dean whos a mid of the road prospect is rated higher than Bolduc.

7. Zachary Bolduc, C

2/24/2003 | 6-feet | 187 pounds | Shoots left

Drafted: No. 17 in 2021
Tier: Projected to play NHL games

Skating: NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: NHL average
Compete: Below NHL average
Shot: High-end

Analysis: Bolduc is a tough evaluation case. He’s put up great numbers in the QMJHL the past few seasons. He has NHL talent between his skating, hands and shot. He can run a power play flank like a pro due to his skill, offensive brain and his lethal one-timer. There is a concern about how much his game will translate to the pros though due to his compete. He’s not completely devoid of compete, but he is a perimeter forward who can be inconsistent with his effort even though he does have some physicality in his game. That’s partly why he was cut from Canada’s U20 team. He’s so talented I think he will end up playing NHL games, but I’d like to see more interior offense that will translate before I say he’s going to have a career.

What difference does it make if Mesar's nearly as good (he's not). We'd be paying to make the switch by taking DeSmith, who we have zero use or cap for.

Yup I agree again not the point of my question

I was asking how close Mesar is to Bolduc

From my view, not that close (I'd say Bolduc is probably around 40-50 among all drafted prospects, Mesar more like 70-90), but definitely not the type of player we'd want anyway. He's a tiny center, something the Blues rarely dabble in.

First of all, Dean is an A- prospect. More to the point, is this the same Pronman who swore up and down that Jeremy Bracco was a surefire all-star? He's not gospel, dude.

I appreciate that you had reasoning and I apologize for that. However, you can’t just completely take Pronmans word on most things. Almost all analysts are wrong and have differing opinions of guys. For reference, last year wheeler had Bolduc in his top 50 of drafted prospects. None of these things mean or don’t mean the prospect will or won’t bust. But both have been wrong before, but Bolduc is in that tier of conversation with many analysts. It’s a good sign.

Dean isnt close to A-. Besides your biased opinion. Pull up the stats on Gatineau this past year between him and Riley Kidney. Kidney isnt on Mesar's level whom came over from Europe and played in the tougher OHL.

Kidney scored 65 points in 29 games meanwhile Dean had 70 points in 50 games. The Q has always been an easy league for guys to milk points in their d2 seasons. Regardless Kidney whos a B prospect drastically out played Dean on the same team.

This isnt rocket science. Dean>Bolduc by not my 'biased' opinion or yours. Corey Pronman has more of a pulse on the guys than you. Gospel or not dismissing something so easily is bad look on you, it makes you look like a fanatic.

Hilarious. Pronman is wrong all the time, dude. And you have exactly zero clue how much of a pulse I have on these prospects. Also, you clearly think junior production = quality of NHL prospect. It very much does not.

Oh and FYI, Dean is a considerably higher rated prospect than Kidney, who didn't even make the looooooong honorable mentions list on this same writer's drafted prospects ranking last month. Maybe lay off the Dunning Kruger putdowns and bias accusations for a while. You're projecting all over the place. At least until you manage to form an educated opinion.

Ottawa wouldn’t trade Pinto for Chychrun… they certainly won’t trade him for that…

You’d have to dangle someone you really wouldn’t want to lose
