VAN decline. Also, why would he go to a team that is worse than VAN?

You won’t ever get equal quality if you trade a players like Pettersson. This is just not what team do. If Pettersson want out that mean Canucks are rebuilding. They will look to add young pieces and draft pick. I don’t think the pick that are offer would be enough but let say Pettersson would want a trade and Mtl get the first overall a Vancouver native Macklin Celebrini would sure be a very good sweetener if they add to trade Him. Also Mtl could had a young defenseman like Harris or Barron or Engstrom or Mailloux and they have many picks, a very deep forward prospect pool. Now we are talking about a nice return. But it would be extremely surprising if he doesn’t resign in Vancouver. Vancouver has been good for the Swede. Vancouver has been victim of Benning horrible tenure. Bad contract after bad decision

Players have more concern then just the Team they play for. Climat, city, family, money, coach, installation, traveling is also much nicer in eastern conference. And is Mtl much worst then Vancouver. Despite all the injuries they had, playing in a harder division. They finish 15 points back. It not like Vancouver where running mile high. Defensively they have a lot of work to do. Hugues is a stud but after that it’s thin my friend. Hronek is good but not a 2nd defenseman.

Based on all reports and from Pettersson himself, he loves Vancouver and just wants to win. VAN is closer to being a playoff team and winning compared to MTL.

Pretty sure VAN could get a better deal for Petty than 2 firsts and two guys with bad contracts MTL has to move to get him under the cap.

I don't see a world where Pettersson is traded to the Habs and ONE of Caufield, Suzuki, Slaf, and Reinbacher aren't in the package. And yeah, I know, that wouldn't make sense for the Habs...but that's kind of the point, isn't it? This trade wouldn't make sense for the Canucks, unless they had certainty on the position and potential players at those picks.

If Pettersson is being traded and this is the best offer Montreal has, I can see another team swooping in with at least one or two really high quality assets that are more certain than any of these pieces right now.

Not sure about that. Vancouver is aging team without a deep prospect pool. Defensively they have to pieces in Hugues and Hronek. You have Pettersson and Willander that are good prospect but still prospect. Mtl have Cash to spend, they have young players under team control at very reasonable cap hit. That is a valuable assets. But i don’t think Pettersson want out. Vancouver have been good for Swede. Also players like Pettersson don’t quite often move these days. He is worth so much more then what he does on the ice. Economically Pettersson is a gem for merch.

Vancouver declines pretty easily. Would need to have one of Reinbacher or Hutson going back for them to even consider.

You think there's a big market to pay Dvorak $4.5 x 2 for his usual 11 goals and 30 games on IR huh

You talk about 2 bad contract ? Dvorak is Dvorak a third line center who can put 35-40 points a season. Is contract is not great but not Horrendous. He will only have a year left. He fill a roster spot. If Canuck decide to move on from Pettersson they will need players. You always get cap goiing the other way. It’s better to have 1 years of Dvorak then 3 years of Gallagher or Anderson.

Vancouver is aging team without a deep prospect pool. .

I really wouldn't say Vancouver is an aging team we where the 5th youngest team in the leauge last year, our 3 oldest players are Irwin at 35 Cole at 34 and Myers at 33 all 3 of those players expire at the end of the year, as terms as prospect pool it's not necessarily deep with blue chip prospects outside of Willander and Lekkerimäki however there is a few players who definitely can good good roster contributors, in Räty, Pettersson, klimovich and Silvos, not having a deep prospect pool isn't as big as deal as most make it out to be if you have a young core which Vancouver certainly does

WTF are you even talking about? Dach, Barron and Dvorak are the players going to Vancouver, only Dvorak is considered to be overpaid and only by like 500k to 1 mil. The 1sts are top 10 without protection. Value here is 4 1sts +

Vancouver ACCEPTS!!! This is a huge overpay by Montreal. I am curious as to why you're putting Elias Pettersson at Centre. He's a defensemen. You're also overpaying him at $11M, he's still on an entry level contract.

Name me one key players not name Pettersson and Hugues that are under 25. Garland, Miller Boeser, Kuzmenko are already closer to the 30’s . Defensively it’s even worst. Prospect are likely not having a impact before 3 season at least.

I think Mtl would need to include Reinbacher plus Dach to get the convo starting here on the center. You can keep the other Petey

That interview in Stockholm where he was giving Friedman and Russo the run around you mean? You have a drastically different view of a player that answers questions without commitment and dodges the other questions. You can head to any forum and a ton of Canucks fans are worried he's leaving.
