Leafs Decline. Not trading Nylander for prospects and a 1st. It's gotta be a star player like Nylander.

Uhhh huh?! Glass will never be as good as nylander. 3rd party here.

Also trading nylander is an awful idea. Sign him for what he needs to stay and then regress for 1 season till Tavares can resign for the 4m he’s worth

I think (hope) hes joking, glass has less points total at 24 than nylander did his first full season

NSH declines. They're not in the market for rentals, and Nylander isn't a long-term fit for them either. They've got plenty of cheap, young talent coming up on the wings. If they're going to use up as much cap space as an extended Nylander will command, it'll be on a center.

I wouldn’t be worried about comparing those two players because at the end I’m pretty confident a decent chunk of Nylander’s numbers are somewhat inflated by the fact he plays with Matthews or Tavares every night

Not that he would completely fall off without either but his production wouldn’t be anywhere near what it is with them, kind of like the European version of Evander Kane, give them elite centers and they’re unstoppable, take them away, the stats will still exist but you won’t be hearing anybody talking about them, at least for what they bring on the ice

I’m fully serious. Glass isn’t the best or most valuable part of this deal, but he’s finally a consistent solution at 2C. He looks like he could be here for awhile, and I don’t think the Preds would move him. Tomasino would be a much more reasonable piece (even though he’s a better asset than Glass) here instead of Glass. I could see that working for the leafs. However, so don’t think the Preds should make a play at Nylander. He won’t get us contending

he's a 24 year old with a career best 35 point season. Him being untouchable, especially for a player like Nylander is flat out hilarious. That's like me saying Liljegren is untouchable in a trade for Theodore.

Tavares isn't the one driving the plays when him and Nylander are playing together.

All I’m saying is that Nashville isn’t in a position to trade one of the two promising young Cs we have

when a guy is 24 and he hasnt even hit 40 points yet, the peak of his promise is likely a 3rd liner. You trade that for a player like Nylander all day, and saying otherwise is just silly.

It doesn’t meet the needs of Nashville, that’s why. We’re thin at C, while RW is stacked. We’d prefer to move an RW in a Nylander trade. It’d make a lot more sense

if you want a C as good as glass you can simply find a team with a spare and trade a 3rd for him. Thin at C or not, no GM turns down sending a guy like glass in a Nylander trade, not a one. Cody Glass is not very good, his value is minimal and he isnt remotely hard to replace.

Glass has shown nothing but good traits since being put in the lineup consistently. He’s still got a fair amount of promise and I don’t see the Preds moving a C that they’ve pretty much developed themselves - very rare for us. He doesn’t make much sense as the piece here in this deal, plus trading for Nylander would be pretty dumb for NSH
