They wont. This makes absolutely no sense.

Added experienced young depth to their bottom 6 for late in the season when they might need a push for a playoff birth.

Why would the Hawks do that? 2 pending UFA's and a bottom of the roster pending RFA winger accomplish what for a rebuilding team at rock bottom that is not winning much this season. Giving away a couple futures for 3 todays only helps win a few more games and instead of sucking hard enough to be in the mix for a top 5 pick, you bring in the potential to win enough to jeopardize that. Rebuilding teams trade todays for futures, not the other way around.

Hawks decline. They aren't trading Safanov. Nothing in that package from Columbus moves their rebuild forward either. Hawks are much better off just waiting for Safanov to come over. Hawks might do Kayumov for Bean straight up.

I’ll take the bean for kayumov deal. Still want to get my hands off Saf though. My question for the hawks is if the fan base is willing to take another year of pure suck. Chicago not known for being the most patient of fans.

The Chicago trade is w/e, but definitely wouldn't want them to do the Buffalo trade. Danforth and Foudy are good depth options and the team has to have some of those otherwise they're only a couple injuries away from TFW, Dunne, or Meyer getting called up.

Or losing them for nothing at the start of the season when the kids show up ready.

Send in the paperwork. Maybe Jarmo has better luck with Kayumov than the Hawks did.

This year won't be as bad as last year. Even if it is, at least Hawks fans get the first glimpse of the future with Bedard, Reichel, Vlasic, Soderblom and probably a couple of other rookies in full time roles. I feel like expectations start to go up starting in 24/25 season. A lot of fans have embraced Kyle from Chicago's vision and are on board. Getting Bedard was big.

And this is why Fantilli is getting that Calder.

He’s probably your 10th best prospect at the moment and doesn’t have a place in your future line up from what I see but I understand every team thinks every one of their prospects is the bergy.

Still amazed he fell to you at #3. I'd have been thrilled to get either Bedard or Fantilli as a Hawks fan.

Didn't say that he was a top tier prospect, but it's not good asset management to just trade prospects away for bad players.

He is the perfect piece to build around into the future. In 4 years a top line of KJ Fantilli and Marchenko is going to give some teams nightmares.

It is a good idea to have depth in your middle six when trying to break out of a playoff curse but it’s fine I’ll go shopping somewhere else.

Hawks are at rock bottom and still at least a season if not two away from any kind of corner turn. My expectations for this season are to be bad enough that pre draft lotto we are assured a top 5 pick, but hopefully build a great line with Hall/Bedard and whoever so there is some entertainment value/reason to watch. Hawks are building the prospect pool to create some anticipation/excitement, but other than Bedard, Reichel, and a few LHD (which D trying to acclimate to the NHL is generally a few seasons of growing pain), most of the rest of the better talent is(or should be) playing junior/college another season (at least). My hope is we transition Reichel and Bedard successfully this season and maybe get an answer or two after some growing pains with LHD prospect(s), and then we can rinse and repeat adding 3 or 4 prospect pieces the next couple seasons and turn the corner in the last Bedard ELC season.
