I doubt you'd need to pay for Faksa. He makes a little too much to just be as solid defensively as he is (and he is, make no mistake). Buffalo may not be the worst landing spot for him, as a team that could definitely use some defensive structure help.

I’d rather have Beecher. Still unknown what he will do in NHL. I know Jost sucks.

Sabres need people who have a winning face off percentage and a little more hitting I think these trades accomplish this.

There's no incentive for Winnipeg to do that.

Sure, but in doing so you got so unrealistic that this is just garbage

The Sabres didn’t bring in E.Johnson to be the 7th defenseman & sit in the Press Box

And they sure as $h!t didn’t bring back their Captain & a guy who wears an “A” to sit in the pressbox either

I’m quite sure u know all this too

So while i get where you’re coming from,
this type of stuff belongs on your Xbox….
bc it’s certainly not happening in reality

Fair, since we have a boatload of cap, using that second maybe send an offersheet to Pinto?

-No idea why Buffalo gives up a 2nd rounder to take in $4.75M of defensive players here. Faksa is nothing more than a 3C/PK1 player getting paid middle-6 money, and Erik Johnson is completely capable of doing what Hakanpaa does without giving up any sort of assets to bring him in. Bad deal for the Sabres.

-Kupari was part of the PLD return; I assume that the Jets would want a big overpay to move him before he gets a chance to hit the ice for them. I think the 2024 2nd you gave Dallas would probably be enough to pry Kupari out, but again - what would the value be there?

-Boston probably declines, because while Jost is a perfectly fine player, he's also a finished product; while Beecher didn't look great in his first AHL season, he's still on his ELC and might have more upside than Jost at this point.

I also can't see Buffalo giving up all these assets and players to keep Okposo & Johnson in the press box while also burying $7.5M in Rochester. I know they have more than enough cap space, but I can't see an owner being happy sacrificing that much capital for minor upgrades in the bottom-6 and third pair.

Kupari has been a bust up to this point although he's very good at face-offs and fairly physical but I think there is more there and Buffalo's system and coaches might have the very best chance to get it out of him. In my plan Okposo, E Johnson and Girgensons play about 45% of games and with a little luck are healthy and fresh for the playoff stretch.
