Pens probably would accept this, seems fair from both sides..... Pens would just need to get a shutdown RHD to play with him

Alex Turcotte is not a "struggling prospect." He's a quality prospect that hasn't been able to stay healthy. When he is healthy for more than two weeks at a time, he looks really good. His coaches describe him as a "difference maker" on the ice.

He's waiver exempt for another full season, and the Kings intend to give him every opportunity to develop into the player that they were hoping to get when they drafted him.

Why would you think that COL is even looking for "takers" on Frankie? The Avs won't resign him but they have no reason to move him this year.

To make cap space for Kubalik.

Money spent on a backup goalie is better spent on more pressing needs.

I would say he’s a little of both, but I certainly wouldn’t even consider dealing him for Lassi Thompson. My guess is Ottawa take Akil Thomas or Tyler Madden, but I’m not sure why LA does this

What pressing need does Kubalik fill?
Avs pass unless its for a 4th at the tdl.

Goal scoring/depth at forward

Drouin in the Top 9 = Disaster

You paid a 2nd for Lars Eller at the tdl ...

Why would the Avs be thinking of moving on from a capable back up with nobody else in the system ready to take on the back up role? If Georgie goes down or when he needs a rest Frankie steps in admirably (as he did for Kuemper in the Cup run). That's a terrible idea for Colorado.

Lars was a swiss army knife and center. Kubalik is basically Namestinkov. And for that, you get a 4th. 3rd line rw is not worth a 2nd to address.

Don't worry once your team starts making playoff runs you'll see how much you need a capable back up in playoffs. look at the last two Stanely cups won, depth goaltending has been huge.

Lars was an aging 4th line center on a struggling Capitals team that you only liked because the Avs acquired him for about 2 months.

There's something called the endowment effect.

Look it up.

And unlike Namestnikov and Eller, the Avs are getting Kubalik for a full season.

And unlike Namestnikov and Eller, Kubalik can score goals.

Starting goalies during the playoffs are supposed to go the distance.

Until their team wins the Cup or is eliminated.

If the Avs want to spend an extra 2 million so Francouz can sit on a bench, then that's just dandy.

Wrong, but good try there buddy. Lars filled a need, kubalik doesn't. There was a reason the Wings forced him on you guys.

Why would you want to move him if he scores so well, you guys are out of your rebuild, no?

Sure, but there's no reason for them to do this trade now. As it stands, he's slated to be the 1C in Ontario for the upcoming AHL season. The Kings are excited to see what he can do.

Next summer, you might be able to get Turcotte for free off waivers if he doesn't pan out.

We just signed Tarasenko, making Kubalik redundant.

And we also need to make room for Pinto.

I appreciate your concern.

Avs didn't win the Cup because of goaltending.

They won it because of Landeskog/MacKinnon/Rantanen + Kadri + Toews/Makar.

Just curious. Do Ottawa fans believe Thompson is going to develop into a top 6 defenseman? I realize he was a first round pick, but I haven’t been super impressed with him at the AHL level.

I, for one, am rather skeptical about Thomson.
