So instead of trying to create cap space to sign our young player we should just trade him away for something we don't need?

I'll spoil it for you, it will involve trading Brannstrom, Joseph, and/or Kubalic, depending on how much money Pinto wants.

It ain't hard to figure out dude

Good luck with creating that cap space, either way you're getting worse

That's all of you telling me who they are trading so I guess we are all acting like we are the general manager. I'm sure they are trying to trade them but that's going to be tough.

We aren't acting like we are the GM. We are making educated guesses based on which players the GM has deemed untouchable, and important to their success, versus players that are deemed expendable. Pinto was deemed the former by the GM.

When GMPD did interviews with local media a few weeks back, when asked about the RFA signings, he hinted that a trade or two to make room was a strong possibility.

So yeah, our comments are based on that. There will be trades.
No one in the top 6 or top 4 are going. Not touching goalies, cause we surely need them. Not trading someone making minimum, cause you need to replace them with another player, so that doesn't free up cap space. Harmonic has a NMC and just signed.

So that leaves Kubi, Branny, Joseph as expendable and likely to be traded.

What is your "Not trading those guys" based on? Seems rather definitive statement. Got sources to back that up? Or is it based on because Joseph would cost an asset to move? GMs trade picks to make issues go away all the time. Branny and Kubi wouldn't cost to move either

You're not moving Joseph because it's going to cost you more than a first round pick probably because he has three years left on his deal. Not many teams have cap space. I would be surprised if they trade Dominik Kubalik because he's really good and is a key player you got back in the Alex DeBrincat trade. So you think they are going to move Branny then? A young 24 year old dman who was a first round pick. That's not smart either. Best solution in my opinion would be to trade Pinto for Veleno or something. One thing I learned here is Veleno is extremely underrated. I'm actually really interested who gets moved and for what.

The best thing about the ACGM feature is, if you make a reasonable trade, you'll get fans of that franchise arguing amongst themselves as to whether to take it or not. If all you get is no after no after no... you've suggested a bad trade.

No it just means people on here think it's a bad trade. It doesn't mean it actually is. And even if it is that's actually realistic because bad trades happen all the time. Trades aren't perfectly even. Usually one team loses. And when teams know you need to create cap space you don't have any leverage. Not many teams have cap space so you have even less. Also fans fall in love with their players and normally over value them and expect a bigger return that is realistic.

Yes. It's common that one team loses in a trade, but that's when you look back on it. On paper, the day it happens, a fanbase is usually somewhat divided. And if you think your offer is realistic I suggest you go look at what BOS fans are prepared to pay for Pinto... then look at your offer again.

Of course, not how the Sens want to trade Pinto, well if they had any interest in trading him to begin with

Sens wouldn't trade Pinto for Chychrun and chose to trade a 12th OA pick in a good draft instead but a few months later, this is what is proposed! lol

They also said they are waiting to see what happens at the training camp. In the reality, NHL teams don't panic like fickle fans do, they already know their options and it will be taken care of in due time.

Kubalik is not "very good", he has a good shot and would need PP time (something that will be hard for him to get in Ottawa). Joseph is actually easily the better player at ES, much better defensively, produces at a similar rate. He also has Elite PK metrics, Kubalik doesn't even PK

The only key piece the Sens got back in the ADB trade is that 1st round pick, the rest are secondary pieces to add a bit of value. Kubalik is worth a 3rd, possibly a 2nd if lucky.

Best solution for Detroit, not Ottawa.
