This trade is indefensible. Such a Leaf slant.

I wouldn't do Mercer straight up for a rental. And no, we wouldn't extend him as your excuse.

The rental market for wingers has been well established.

Not to pile on, but Mercer is the more valuable asset. The Leafs would have to add.
