Hawks obviously decline. Gallagher and Pearson are cap dumps from the Hawks perspective. They probably take those 3 picks just to move out of Montreal. Hawks aren't tossing in Jones for free.

While it is a terrible contract he is not a terrible player. Hawks have no need to move him. He is not blocking prospects.

His contract may be bad by a million or two per year, but Jones is a very capable player. The OP has him on Montreal's top pair on his roster above. Gallagher and Pearson are shells of what they once were. Neither is close to worth what they are being paid.

Zegras is excatly what they dont need. Soft and defensive liability. Slaf may never be an impact player at either end but you dont throw away the potential power forward for a guy with clear warts in Zegras.

Hawks wouldn't pay anything to "dump" the Jones contract now. They aren't looking to move him and they certainly don't need the cap space. So I stand by my statements in my posts.
