Devils aren't interested. It's not worth paying a 2nd for depth, especially when the Devils have a surplus of NHL quality forwards

Massive surplus. The split squad games helped showcase that

I am more curious as to whether these are deadline moves.....

The way the team is currently constructed I see them getting back to their roots - a defense first, thorn in your side, a bad rash that won't go away sort of squad. The Central outside of Dallas underwhelms me.so much, I could see the Preds in the playoffs mix and the bitter end..... which then begs questions of would Trotz do any of this (noting some of it he should regardless).

My feedback here, is that I cannot see the Preds moving both Carrier and Fabbro. One of them sure. Both I think leaves a hole at RD moving forward.

It appears Thomas Novak is this season’s Evgeny Kuznetzov…

I could see Dallas accepting if it weren't for Suter's contract being in the way.

How many teams spend a 2nd on a 4th liner, and a wing at that?

If Lazar and Bastian, and I'll even kick in Foote....can't kick it as a 4th line RW, then the Devils can increase marginally for far less than a 2nd. A 2nd would be as if the Devils went NUTS and got a middle 6 scorer and said to Dawson Mercer "We love you, you aren't a 4th liner...but we want you to eat every team's lunch...", then MAYBE the Devils go get a winger, but not saying I love that plan.

I kind of like the Sharks RD right now with Rutta, Benning and Burroughs for where the Sharks are at in their rebuild. Fabbro plays a similar style to all three so it really doesn't make sense to go after him. That's also an overpay for him for a 2nd that will be pretty damn close to a first

In what world is Lauzon worth a 2nd?

Dallas should be all over this one, but I understand this trade the least. Why get Marchment if you're retooling? That just blocks a roster spot from the talent expected to develop.

Yea that’s a no on Fabbro for that price, I would swap a player for him or a prospect but a 2nd in the 33-38 range is too much.

If I was Dallas I would be over it. I just don't know if they'd have space for Harley and Lundkvist if another vet defender is added with Suter still being there.
