Let's leave trade values out of this for a moment.

The desire to trade Joseph is because they need the money to sign Pinto.

Could the OP explain their logic in trading both Joseph and Pinto? Why trade Pinto if you've dumped Joseph and now have room for Pinto? Why trade Joseph if you just want to trade Pinto?

Going back three months, Dorion should have been on CapFriendly at realized the foolishness of signing Tarasenko and the implications.
Could've kept 2.5m Pinto, 1m Thompson and cap to round out the lineup. Yeah, Tarasenko might be worth his 5m....but still, Dorion has to realize that NHL is a cap league

Some Flyers will not like this, even though Joseph at 2.5 AAV is actually on a good deal
