Pinto is not that guy. I’d rather give up a 1st and Perrault and get Gourde retained instead.

Probably would more realistic to see Lafreniere to Ottawa, Perreault to Montreal.

click bait haha

Love your title!

But you basially proposed the same trade I did a few posts earlier; not because i'd do it straight up, but just because it's something to think about considering both 1st OA potential/trajectory.

Cheers mate!

Ottawa is in cap heck, so they need the prospect, not more salary.

The only way ottawa trades Pinto for a prospect is if the prospect is nhl ready and can help us this year

I read a story saying both are out of favor and that a swap is being discussed. Change of scenery and all that, yada yada, The Slaf/Laffy trade allows the Pinto trade to happen.

Maybe so. I was just thinking about what stage each franchise is in…would make more sense to send them the NHLer. And Sens may need a winger to replace DeBrincat long-term while Montreal needs forward prospects.

Both markets have impatient fan bases. But Slaf has more patience capital left, but less hype. Laff has way less patience capital left, but had way more hype surrounding his selection.

I think all this "Laff trade" comes from a brutal article from NY press on Laffy, basically playing like an invitee.
I guess that's what this whole CapFriendly fantasy GM is all about right?

Cheers buddy!

The Sens probably are going to have to pay one way or another. Either a younger NHL prospect, a lesser valued NHL-ready prospect, or pick(s)/prospect(s) to move Joesph's contract

Why assume that this is the only option?

No assumption that it is the only option, of course a myriad of possibilities, but moving Joseph's contract seems the most likely option. It would allow for Pinto to get re-signed and provide a few bucks of cap space. Other moves like Brannstrom don't clear enough cap unless Pinto lowers his reasonable current demand, which would be contrary to reporting. How do you see the Sens cap situation getting resolved?

I don't see it as the most likely, the no brainer move would be Kubalik for me. But as of now, Norris is most likely going on LTIR, Pinto will be signed as soon as Norris can be put on LTIR and all decisions will be delayed

Tough break that Norris is at that point. Not ideal for cap accumulation, but gives PD some time to decide.
