He's a good B6 guy, great locker-room dude.

Not sure why we needed an extension already, but ok,

The only real question I have is why extend him so early?

I really wish they would had a "Meh" option. This is a quintessential 'meh' signing.

I mean, he's a decent 4th liner/13F but why extend him now, and for more than a mil

No Berni huh. 💀

He was holding out for a NHL contract since he played so much last year. Problem is, we are so flush on D as is, there's no space. He's likely going back to Switzerland and trying again next year.

Berni is going back to Switzerland to play. He wanted a legit shot at being an NHL guy, and it was clear he wasn't that in Columbus, so he decided not to sign his QO. He got a camp tryout and still couldn't make the team, so off he goes.

He's a league minimum guy, so that's a slight overpayment I'd say.

It's more than Danforth should've gotten, but it's no big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Not worth it. He's an AHLer in my opinion.
