And finally, moving Brannstrom creates a huge hole in the Sens defense. One injury to the Top-4 and we're screwed as he is the only capable of playing these minutes and do well.

That is a net salary of 5.3 the Hawks are taking on and I refer you to the Zaitsev dump or Bailey dump to see what it costs to shed cap/salary. It is not going to be a 5th offset by a 6th going back to take on 6.5 million on a guy who's track record says you will be lucky to have him healthy for 50-60 games and have him put up 25-30 points.
