Trading for Fabbro READ DESCRIPTION

Description
So apparently there's been discussions of a a trade involving Connor Garland at 30% retained for Dante Fabbro. Not sure what other pieces were involved in the discussion, but I just wanted to run this trade package by Nashville fans to see what they think. Maybe I'm undervaluing Fabbro, but if there's discussions of him for Garland, wouldn't Nashville want the younger player at the more valuable position.

McLeod is not someone the Oilers organization would want to part with, he's still got solid top 6 potential and a bunch of raw skill and speed. But I really think we need a reliable partner for Nurse for the future and maybe Fabbro can be that

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see either side’s motivation to make that trade. Nashville is well-stocked with young middle-6 centers, and I doubt Edmonton is willing to make such a drastic change so readily.

Edmonton needs a RHD better than Fabbro and McLeod is just more middle6 Center to throw on nashville's pile of middle 6 Cs (novak, glass, etc). I dont see the benefit for nashville in this or the speculative garland trades

I think Edmonton could be motivated if they keep losing games and Broberg doesn't step up and earn a top 4 spot in the next 2 months. But you're probably right that Nashville doesn't have the desire

Whatever you think of Garland's contract he's a legit difference maker. Over the last 3 seasons, he was 51st in scoring per 60 among players with at least 80 games played. Over that same time, he's 62nd in even strength points. He's one season removed from being 28th among all players in even strength points per 60. Garland produces a ton when you control for the opportunity that he's given.

McLeod is not a comparable player to Garland.

I doubt Fabbro moves, especially with Schenn out for the foreseeable future. I really am not in the mood to see Jordan Gross play for another month 💀

If NSH moves Fabbro at the deadline, I'd be content with two 2nds for him.

The Preds don't have room for or need of McLeod though. Remove him and the 4th, and I think it's a better deal for both sides.

I don't think the Pens want Ceci even with an injury. Maybe if Edm throws in a pick? Ceci isn't good.

Oh I know Garland is the better player, I just thought McLeod might fit Nashvilles future better. But I guess not!

Fair enough. If it makes you feel any better when you try to trade with Nashville fans apparently they don't need anything, even though their team is decidedly middling.
