Avs won't likely have that kind of money to spend on a 4C so they decline.

Y'all beat me to it, was gonna say exactly that. Avs budget for 4C is <$1m and they have it covered with Olofsson and Pavel who will get a shot too. They may add a 4C at the deadline for depth but it would be a cheaper guy than Sturm in that case.

I mean they COULD add one for more but it would require some significant other shenanigans and no realism like most of my 'dream teams' lol.

It would take 50% retention, but I doubt SJ has any interest in retaining half of a deal that has term. At least not at a price that would be acceptable to Colorado. No fit here.

No chance anyone is paying a 7th for Hoffman, let alone a 3rd. Sturm for a 3rd isn't terrible, but clearly Colorado fans won't want him. Barabonov isn't worth a 1st unless there is some retention.

Well I like this a lot.. this means the rangers won the cup because there’s no chance they give up a 1st unless the conditions were winning it all. That being said you may want to look elsewhere because there is a good chance NYR doesn’t look to add big acquisitions at the TDL. I would guess they lean more to a big name on the blue line before a forward

Hoffman is the worst hockey player I've ever seen. No one's giving up a pick for him.

Barabanov could MAYBE get a 1st if he get's back to his play from last year but this offense is so bad that it's going to hurt a lot of guys value, even if they are talented players.

I could see Sturm getting a 3rd but idk if COL is the team.

I don’t think that it isn’t that COL fans don’t want him they don’t want that extra contract year.
