Toronto says no to Washington

Caps say hell yes and run away.

Samsonov's recent play aside, CHI has no business spending anything on goaltending, right now.

To expand on Garak's post:
1. Goaltending has actually been a positive for the Hawks so far this season
2. They have too many prospect goalies to add another for no reason
3. They aren't trying to compete this season, so spending a 3rd on a UFA makes no sense.

Why exactly would the Hawks be spending any pick to acquire a pending UFA goalie at the TDL?

Toronto and their own goalies. A battle as old as time.

Management and ownership are secretly Leafs fans? Any other explanation would defy logic....namely a rebuilding tanking team spending draft capital to add UFA's as opposed to what we all know will happen which will be a yard sale of 75% of the Hawks roster at the TDL.

Great value for Washington but terrible for Toronto. Oshie blocks the trade though, Us Caps fans are, depending on how you feel about him, stuck with him or protected from any Oshie trade since he doesn't want to be anywhere else. However, the line "Reaves to protect and patrol for Ovie..." is objectively funny when you consider that Tom Wilson already exists.

Here's a realistic idea if Samsonov and Mrazek keep playing the way they are playing so far; Toronto sends a 1st round pick and Samsanov for Mrazek half retained.

Hawks have zero need for Samsonov, he'd be considered a cap dump to Chicago so no way would they even take him for free.
