You decline. Hawks wouldn’t. For a rental and a 6th D. Sammy might not have had a good start but he is better than Mrazek. Holmberg is a good young depth F with potential.

I actually think the Leafs add in the Seattle trade

Hawks have more than enough goalies in their system right now. Mrazek and Soderblom in NHL, Commesso and Stauber and AHL and the recently drafted Gajan. Goalie is a luxury we are not shopping for, especially a UFA.

And Holmberg is just another bottom 6 depth forward. Hawks have depth covered in spades. So you have wasted a Hawks retention slot for a UFA and redundant piece. This makes no sense for a rebuilding Hawks team.

Jamie is not an upgrade over McCabe and Brodie was the best defensive defender last year and was top 3 the year before so Larson is maybe a bit of an upgrade but not worth this payment

Jamie is a massive upgrade over McCabe. Larsson is a younger, bigger, more physical upgrade over Brodie. Going after team needs not fans wants. I don’t care about highlight reel goals. I want a tough defensive team that can take us deep in playoffs

@klassic is correct. Hawks decline. Neither Holmberg or Sammy are players the Hawks want or need this season. Perry is a much better fit (grit, leadership, net front scoring ability) in the Hawks bottom 6 this season than Holmberg would be. If Hawks do trade Perry, it will be for a pick or a much younger prospect than Holmberg. Adding Sammy just means the Hawks need to make another deal to flip Sammy or move Mrazak. They don't need another pending UFA goalie.

Hawks aren't competing, if you need to move cap to the Hawks and ask them retain as well, it costs picks

So the reality is no one from the Hawks organization is on here commenting. It’s just a bunch of fans throwing our opinions around. My opinion is this trade proposal is hot garbage & the Hawks shouldn’t entertain it for a second.
