Description
Obviously I'm not saying those are the deals too be made but in a deal for one of the Flames D, which of those targets could you see the Sabres moving? 1 for 1 deals? What would you want to see the Flames add?

Just my personal preference, I would rather see the Flames acquire prospects than picks.

Unless there’s an extension in place (and a reasonable one at that) can’t see there being an appetite to do any of these 1 for 1 tbh. There’s validity to some, but like benson, absolutely not. Peterka, Kulich, Savoie, Quinn same thing. Buf needs roughly a 4/5M man that is a solid number 3, and I think Tanev will be aging out of a contract like that or be a problem if given one, and Hanifin will want more.

We also have 7 defensemen already and 2 nhl contracts in the ahl and Ryan johnson. We'd have to move out defensemen not forwards and trading defensmen you JUST signed has longterm implications with players throughout the league

I think you're a bit too ambitious here. I also don't think the Sabres are in any position to be buyers right now

Definitely aren't getting any of those pieces in either trade scenario. Maybe the 1st for tanev if the Sabres have an injury.

I would assume these are deadline/possible injury deals. Not that it was stated, but yeah. Power and Dahlin can carry a line, but getting someone better than Clifton (or Clifton’s improvement within the system, which I can see happening) should be something to explore. Not at these prices though.

With the state of the cap and how good those prospects are I don’t think Buffalo looks to move guys that are going to be pushing for NHL jobs on ELC’s. As mentioned above, I also think it would be wrong for them to be buyers this year

For Tanev I'd do Clifton and a 2nd. For Hanifin I'd do Ostlund and a 2nd

My overall thought is the one player of yours I'd be willing to give picks and players for is a player you don't want to lose Rasmus Andersson.

Is there a Krebs for Tanev deal to be made somewhere??

      Not likely imo
Don’t think we’d move Krebs for a rental
And Tanev is likely too old for us to want to extend

And the Sabres won’t have any interest at all in Hanifin
Any remote chance of that went away when they signed Dahlin & Power to huge $$$ deals- bc they aren’t gonna want to give another defenseman big $$, and they won’t give up what it would take to get Hanifin just for him to be a rental
He just doesn’t make sense for us now
