For me, hockey is such a team sport that it’s never worth sending 5 quality parts for 1 player, even if it is for McDavid. The sum of thise parts > McDavid in my opinion.

It doesn’t make any sense for a rebuilding team like Chicago to give up anything for a very mediocre d-man like Ceci.

Yes. My team's roster has all cap friendly deals (you could argue that Doug's contract is a bit much). Toronto and Edmonton are in cap hell. Especially Toronto. Buffalo and Boston have guys making over 10, but they know that in two years, the cap will jump 8 mill. That is when you should do the 10 or 11 mill deal. Colorado is in a similar spot.

Detroit laugh and passes, Larkin doesn't waive for that dump, Cossa isn't going anywhere. Detroit isn't a McDavid away from being a serious contender. So not giving up major assets for him. The whole idea is to make Detroit better npt strip them of their best players.

Yes they could afford this

Draisaitl replaces Norris and even though Drai will be more costly, the upgrade is worth it

The price for that upgrade would be 1st + 2nd and Brannstrom who is good but isn't absolutely needed since he is a LHD.
