If Draisaitl goes, McDavid goes too. That's a scorched earth, full scale rebuild scenario.

Terrible mindset, to completely give up on Mcdavid and Drai after everything they've given us is pathetic. One rough start to the year and we immediately blow it up? Cmon. There are clear issues, moving generational players won't fix that

Why do the Sens do this?

Chychrun is good. They like him. He's their 2nd best dman. They finally have a good top 4 after about a decade.

They've already had Ceci and it didn't work out. They aren't trying him again, or taking his contract. Holloway has yet to show much in the NHL. Even then, Sens don't have scoring issues. It's defense for them. They have forward prospects that can play 3rd line, or just sign a UFA without having to give up an asset. Wingers have been pretty easy to acquire.

So the only thing of real of value is a first. Considering they gave up a 12th OA+ for Chychrun, that first would have to be top 10.

Sens would decline.

Also, Chychrun doesn't want to play RD. It's why the Sens have been playing Chabot at RD when paired with Chychrun. So he wouldn't solve your RD issue.

This all makes a lot of sense.

The biggest issue is in net. Moving Drai allows us to address that.

And as for McDavid, if he’s going to sulk if he doesn’t have his friends playing alongside him I don’t want him on the team anyway.

Holloway is solid defensively. He should work out just fine for them. I don't like the Drai trade. Saros is a pending UFA and Draisaitl is still the second best player in the world and to only get this for him is very lackluster

Easy pass for Ottawa. Chychrun is home, he's going nowhere

I don't see any argument as to why the Sens would want to trade Chychrun for a possible late 1st after paying a 12th OA pick and to 2nds

They want him and need him

Rourke Chartier is also solid defensively and plays Center full time. Mark Kastelic also is. Yet, all these guys have basically no value when talking about acquiring a player of Chychrun's caliber. Holloway is 22 now and his value has been plumetting
