You have to give to get. Choose one of the following:
* Lower your sights: You could target Ullmark instead with a comparable return (blue chip prospect + high round pick). LIke others said above, I doubt Boston trades him in-season though. Keep in mind that he is signed next year too.
* Raise your offer: Swayman is still an RFA and his play is still on an upward trajectory. Teams in the playoff hunt don't trade players like that unless there is a killer return, regardless of position.

I've seen other NJ fans suggest taking a longer-term volume-based approach since the team's competitive window should be open for a while. I think that makes sense too. Given the injuries you all have had to deal with this season, this might just be a year to roll the dice with what you have and save your higher-end assets for later.

Open to this if the extensions for Swayman and Merced are both inline with expectations. Maybe more Casey to lesser dman. Or ask a pick coning to NJD.
