Columbus says add Miroshnichenko and deal. Patty's contract length and age have to play into the value of the trade.

Getting out of whats looking like a bad contract, a year earlier also factors. Anybody making offers on Laine is framing it as a favor.

Price is a little low for, retention, and extension.

I am not in the move laine camp because I think a lot of his current slump is due to the bush league hit he took. Also he's always been a streaky player so I'm waiting for the snap out to come. With that being said the Kuzy "slump" is heading into it's third year. So thats where my ask of a mid level prospect comes from.

I thought the caps were high on maraschino cherry?

He slipped quite a bit after last year. After coming back form cancer he didn't wow but i like his game think adding him in to this would be a buying low situation.

Kuzy is 31 and there are major issues there between team and player. I would say at this point in time Kuzy's contract is absolutely worse despite being 1 year shorter. Washington definitely adds here

What are you talking about? Miroshnichenko has looked amazing and has been lighting up the AHL. He also looked amazing in the pre-season. Only guy the caps would even consider moving Miroshnichenko for on the blue jackets is Adam Fantilli.

I'm probably just wrong on this one, I think I started by over valuing Miroshnichenko and over valuing cap space, as per usual.

However my rationale isn't baseless. If it costs a 1st to dump a good player like Monahan, what does dumping Laine or Kuznetsov actually cost?

Not oranges to oranges but the principle of GMs not paying for problems is sound. (IMO)

It's not hyperbole. I didn't say Miro for Fantilli one for one was a done deal. There's no one else on that roster or in that system that the caps would trade Miro for. If you can point someone out that you think fits a Miro trade, please do. He's been fantastic in Hershey. This isn't even a shot at Columbus.

Okay? So does that mean he’s worth a third round pick at this point? He played incredibly well in the couple games he got into in the preseason and he’s been scoring at a very respectable pace in the AHL. Not to mention his physicality is incredible and he’s literally not even 20 years old yet. It’s his first season in North America, he’s a year removed from literally having cancer, and he’s doing incredible anyway.

Missing a lot of context here. He was getting maybe 4 minutes of ice time per game at points as the 13th forward, the fact he scored at all in the K is quite a shock given how little he was on the ice. He also had a great regular season for the M, talking only about the playoffs is a bit cherry picked. Now has 13 points in 21 games in Hershey while playing on the 4th line and elevating players who are likely career AHLers.
