Calgary counters with:

BOS's 2024-1st (Super Late) + Marco Kasper (Ain't Exactly Killing It in the AHL) + one of either Berggren/Rasmussen/Veleno/Dylan James/Andrew Gibson/Noah Dower Nilsson
FOR
Lindholm 50% Retained

As good a package as any. CGY accepts, DET makes the playoffs

I don't think the underperformance of any Griffin's prospects are going to be anything of concern, given how it seems to be the case with all NA pro-newbies (Kasper, Wallinder, Lombardi) whereas the players who were in pro-NA last year (Johansson, Edvinsson, Cossa) are some of the best players on the team.

I'd take this like all hell if I'm Detroit.

Remind me the conditions of the DeBrincat deal? Detroit renting Lindholm with the potential to buy long term makes some sense

Yeah, I say the same thing about Lindholm given his lack of production this season...

Austria isn't known for producing Quality NHL Players, so Kasper's a gamble AFAIC. I'm very familiar with Cossa. I live in Edmonton and watched him play with the Oil Kings

Yzerman said himself he's not trading assets for guys who don't fit the rebuild, meaning players older than Larkin.

We traded a 1st, 4th, Kubalik, and a lifetime AHL player for Debrincat, who had control in his RFA status and fits our rebuild much better. Why would we move this package for someone older who just had the same season as Cat?

Don't think country of origin is what directly affects play.

Because Selke Quality Right Shot Centres who can Score 40+ Goals and Produce 1.00PPG+ are Extremely Rare and Hard to Come By and DET should be coming out of their Rebuild and adding Valuable Veteran Pieces to Contend is what I’d say

Of course not lol, just an observation for consideration

I prefer North American Players, just a personal preference is all

You obviously have no clue because Detroit gets to choose which pick Ottawa gets it's either Bostons 2024 1st or Detroit's 2024 1st. Since Boston has the 2nd most points in the league. I think it's safe to say Ottawa will be getting Boston's 2024 1st.

Okay, way to be an ass about it though….

You’re right, I don’t follow or care about conditions on picks, I’m not a nerd or loser like you. You’re cool, not lol

Lindholm did that once and had Gaudreau and Tkachuk on his wings. He's a UFA that doesn't fit Detroit's window, and his production is much more likely to line up with last season than the previous, which are great, but not 40+ goals and 1PPG. We aren't trying to win the cup this year. Cat was a controllable 40+ goal scorer and the return was significantly less than what is in this trade. It's just not gunna happen at that price for a guy outside the rebuild window.

I could see these two make a deal if Larkin is out long term. I could see Detroit making a push for Lindholm. Seems to be pretty fair value 👍

Detroit counters with: Thank you for your consideration, if you would like to come back to the table later we will gladly offer two seconds, Berggren, Maatta (as you might need some more LD soon) and Eemil Viro. If that's not of interest we would consider a counteroffer, but we understand you may be looking for some more value elsewhere. We look forward to any future business we can conduct and wish Mr. Lindholm the best of luck for the remainder of this season and wish him well in his contract negotiations this summer.
