I think it’s a fair trade for both teams.
Don’t know if it makes sense on their rosters/lineups 🤔

How?! A depth dman and a bunch of picks that odds are don’t amount to anything for one of our top forwards.

not fair at all. i don't know what you're saying. Someone who plays in the Ahl + some mid picks we already have for someone who brings so much for us? Hell nah. Easy pass. 1st+ if you want him. There's not even a 2nd rounder in this deal bruh. There's even retention on the deal.

I am pretty sure Habs would never make that trade.
Either a 1st round pick... or they re-sign him. They are not desperately trying to get rid of him.

There is a team that will offer a 1st round pick for Monahan. Unless his production suddenly comes to a screetching halt, or if he gets injured.

Even though it's obvious that the Habs would refuse that trade, I have to say that it's amazing that you got the cap space down to exactly zero lol
Good job smile

Most of Monahans production is on the PP and he definitely won’t get much time on Tampas PP. Value seems fine though.
Savard would be a better target

Value seems fine ... from TB's point-of-view, I totally agree.

How about if you were trying to put yourself in the Habs GM place for a moment?

Remember: trades are done with 2 teams. BOTH teams need to get something they want and need from the trade... or they don't do it.

From TB'S side, yes, great value. Fair.
From Montreal's side, they decline.

A lot of guys on here make the mistake of evaluating trade value according to what the acquiring team would use them for. Players value is evaluated by what they’ve done on their current team and how important he is to them. Here in Montreal he plays PP#1 and is the guy taking the face off when the game is on the line. This offer would be insulting to Hugo.

His 5 on 5 numbers are terrible and Montreal’s PP is mediocre. This is a fair offer.

Fair for whom? Its not really enough to get Montreal to trade him rather than try to re-sign him since Montreal doesn't need Myers and don't need later picks.

Whatever the point is moot. Word is that Hugo is leaning towards extending him and this package won’t make him decide to trade him instead.

Fair offer... from TB's perspective, again.
From Montreal's perspective, they decline. Period.

If yyou put yourself in Kent Hughes shoes, do you think you can get a team to offer more? Or you go with that offer?

@SomeonesOffended I know you agree dude; Kent Hughes can get a better offer for Monahan. And if that's the ultimate best offer he is given, he will extend him. No one wants that package

It was ALWAYS about market value, and supply and demand.
But Hab-haters-meatheads aren't able to compute that past their hate, and sso they like to bash Monahan and resort to humiliate themselves.

Everyone knew he would get a 1st.
