Over paid? More like didn't pay enough. Brodie holds zero value to a rebuilding Hawks team. Robertson is the only thing of value there for them. You could take out Vlasic, Foligno and the retention on Murphy and it's not enough for the Hawks to part with Murphy right now.
Buffalo is not trading their 1st this year. Minten is not worth the value of where that pick will land.
No one is claiming Samsonov, you are stuck with him.
Considering you don't get the Buffalo 1st this trade can't happen. But for value sakes, it doesn't make sense for a Washington team that is committed to winning now. Trading their starter, even if he isn't posting great numbers is not ideal, let alone retaining for multiple years.
