I really can't see Monahan getting more than a 2nd + decent prospect unless there's retention and MTL sends a sweetener tbh. Teams would rather go after cheaper options such as Wenneberg or Henrique at that point.

Well Monahan is only 2 000 000 $, that is not cheap?

By cheaper I think he means cheaper to acquire but that’s just the thing. Monahan’s value will be driven up at the TDL by the fact that his cap hit is lower than the other center options out there in a flat salary cap year…that is if Hugo decides to shop him.

Hard pass from Buffalo. 99% chance GMKA looked at Allen when he sent Levi to the AHL and only because he thought he could get him cheap, like Eric Robinson, like a 7th rounder. Levi came back and played well so he used his 7th on Robinson. Sabres managements plan was to always keep Levi up and they currently have 3 goalies, so I highly doubt they're looking at Allen anymore, especially not for Krebs

I think a conditionnal second (based on health), another second and a prospect is the most realistic. Copp is a pretty good comparable.

Explain why you think 33 Y/O Savard is worth a first plus a roster player.

Never habs will get that for Monahan
I am not sure Buffalo have a interest in Allen and if they have they will not give Krebs
Kovacevic is good but he not value a 3rd rounder
Never you will get a fist for Savard without a 50 % of salary. Ceci trade is ok

The Sabres trade is ABSOLUTELY NOT gonna happen
1- not interested in Allen, or even a goalie like him (imo)
2- certainly not giving up Krebs, for a backup quality “mentor”

Holy hell Habs fans…. U really gotta stop w this crap

Avs have shot down every Monahan for a 1st trade, but why don't the Habs increase their ask, that should get it done right?

These guys are just silly naysayers.. The habs will get a first easily for Monahan if he keeps producing and stays healthy. And if he gets hurt then they won't. I think i prefer to keep him because a late first wont even be an nhler necessarily.... but I would definitely not trade him for a second rounder. Goalie trades are always tough to gauge so you will get nothing but grief on here for any allen trade. but at the deadline someone will bite on him and on Savard too. Savard could get a first like Chariot did if he keeps playing well but who knows where that first will come from.

Monahan is a no go, or at the very least should be, for the Avs. He doesn't have that value even if someone is stupid enough to pay it.

your knowledge is small if you think monahan has little value.. Just his defensive game and faceoff% make him valuable.. not to mention he produces points. He is not a first line player anymore but he still has lots of value. Watch when the deadline passes you will be hiding your words.
