No he's guaranteed to end his contract in TB just before the start of the season. Saying he's ready to sign an extension tomorrow the sentence after he said he was disappointed with the lack of contract talks.

Personally I don't really see the point here. A collection of low value late round picks really doesn't do that much for Tampa going forward.

Selling of Stamkos is really the only future focused move they could make that would bring back true value, but considering how the team is constructed and contracts and all, I think their only real option is just to ride it out to the end kinda how Pittsburgh has, at least short term next couple years or so.
