If you trade for Vlasic...he's AT LEAST your #2 LD. Dudes FAR exceeded my expectations. Lock him up for an 8 year deal.

Oh, and Hawks pass even if you add Knies.

The only trade that has any chance of happening is the Capitals deal. Columbus, Minnesota and Chicago all easily decline.

You could make a case for Chicago trading Foligno if they can't re-up him but (and I know +/- is a subjective stat) Vlasic is a +10 on one of the worst teams in the league and he's only 22. There's absolutely no way they trade Vlasic unless they cleanly win the trade. He's a cornerstone piece of this team's future and a Chicago native.

Dudes a stud. I'd sign him to 8 years. He's now teaching Louis Crevier how to be an NHLer. That's how much responsibility has been thrust on to him.

Make no mistake! He's not likely a big point getter, but there are serious discussions about him being Brent Seabrook. His passing. He intercepts/disrupts in transition. His ability to lock down TOP superstars already. His IQ on where to be is sharp. He needs work in the offensive zone when he has the puck on his stick, BUT even if he doesn't become an offensive dynamo...these Dmen are the glue of playoff teams. The guy that's a shutdown dman against the opponents top guy. I'd toss him out there against Matthews/McDacid today. Would he win every time today...no, not every time. I'm not ignorant to suggest every time, but he is their best dman right now. Seth Jones is hurt...so there's that caveat, but an absolute gamer.

Hahaha. Nice troll post. Keep on keeping on.
Take out Foligno & Vlasic the Hawks probably still decline.

Idk. I guess maybe it is early and a lot can change between now and when CHI is back in contention. But if you watch him on a regular basis right now, he consistently shuts down top offensive players in the league with his skating, size, and reach, alone. He is technically good at defense and not just physicality and pinching, he sticks like glue, stops players, and takes pucks right off sticks on a regular basis. I don't need offense from a player that can do those things, but if and when the offense does come, I personally believe he has the makings to become one of, if not, the best defenseman in the league.

Leafs fans out of ALL fans should know too. It was just one game, but for the year Matthews is having (OBVIOUSLY, he's a FAR superiority player) and for Vlasic to just easily remove Matthews from the puck something like 5/6 different times. THAT game was just 1 game, but like you said. He's been consistently good.
