Rangers pass. There are other 3C options available that won’t cost a first.

Two future draft picks and a B prospect smurf. Do you even know who Trevor Zegras IS?

Anaheim counters with Jakob Perreault and the same two 2025 draft picks for Cole Caufield.

Ducks fans are so easy to trigger.

Definitely too low there.

It hasnt. He's a 50 pt, 2 way center that wins draws signed to a cheap deal. A late 1st at 30% of being an NHL regular and a late 3rd at 15% arent a big price. This is probably the minimum price he's moved otherwise they'll reisgn him as hes only 29 and they have question marks at center going forward.

Disagree. RHD market too hot for a player with obvious warts

1st and 3rd is the highest I’ve seen him traded for on here. The usual trade made is a 1st only

A 1st from the Rangers is not the same as a 1st from the Leafs for example. The chances a player drafted at 20 becomes an impact player are much much better than a player at 30-32OA. Odds go from 65% down to 30%.

Same reason Chychrun went to the Sens last year instead of other teams. better 1st.

I don't think it's as easy as you let on, Farrell is a very good playmaking winger on an ELC to play with either Carlsson or MacTavish. The Ducks are getting 2 assets for taking a bit of a risk on a younger winger with top 6 potential

If Farrell is a very good playmaking winger and potential top-six, why wouldn’t the Habs just hold onto him?

Something that people don't take into consideration enough is that Zegras is a flashy player and fan favorite - potentially the face of the franchise. For a team that is towards the bottom of the standings, you keep those young guys around to get butts in seats while you rebuild.

Barron is a bottom pairing guy in WPG and has shown he has, as stated earlier…warts
I’d take him, but not for that.

It's called paying to fill a need, Zegras is more of a center than a winger, Farrell doesn't play center and the Ducks need wingers more than Zegras as a 3C. We can't count on Dach or Newhook to be healthy all the time so IMO we should be looking to add someone like Zegras to play 2C and move those two to the wing

Barron would be alright, but has done nothing to warrant returning a high 2nd.

Having too many good young centers isn’t the kind of problem the Ducks need to make a trade to solve. It doesn’t fill a need for the ducks to lose a young roster player for an inferior prospect and picks. They already have the talent they need to build upon as well as plenty of draft capital as it stands.
