Zegras becomes expandable

Created by: simonveilleux
Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 8, 2024
Published: Jan. 8, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I no longer see Zegras as a crucial part of the plan in Ahaheim. He doesn't seem to align with the Ducks strategy, and Montreal could benefit from an offensive boost. I understand he may not be the ideal player for the playoffs, but he can sure create offense. I would be inclined to place a bet on him.

Mailloux looks like the physical D-man Anaheim could use, espacially since they traded one of their best right shot defenseman.
Trades
MTL
  1. Zegras, Trevor
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (ANA)
ANA
  1. Mailloux, Logan
  2. 2025 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Anaheim gets the later pick between Calgary and Montreal (both of them will be top 15 picks lets be honest)

There's two lines in the top 6, therefore there's two spots at LW. We brought it one guy, Zegras is the other.

Mallioux has been completely invisible in MTL since he entered the system, not the immediate difference maker that was expected, to say nothing of his character flaws that caused him to drop to 31 in the first place.

The Ducks traded Drysdale because he was becoming injury prone and the Ducks desperately needed scoring.

So this offer is a big fat no from Anaheim. So Habs fans should just get it out of there head

Yeah let's trade a 22 year old that is super creative and boosts sales our merchandise. It's more than the ice stuff as well not to mention how does a 22 year old nor fit? Zegras is not available and if they entertained it they would want major futures (2024 1st, Reinbacher, caufield, etc) he's a future piece so Pau a far price or move on bro this isn't Dubois all over again

bro what are you saying? wdym mailloux has been completely invisible💀 he's doing an excellent job in the ahl and is very promising. he has more point than Sean Wright.. stop with this, your just affirming things without even knowing what you're talking about..

The mistake he did was disgusting. He learned from it and he's showing us that we did the right thing by giving him a 2nd chance. Stop with it. If you want we could talk about the character flaws of Gauthier..

Even if Zegras is now expendable ( I agree with the masses here) you'd have to shell out a lot more.

He isn't McDavid. I wouldn't even be sure to trade Mailloux for him 1v1.

I understand that Zegras fills a gap in the lineup, but in terms of character, he doesn't appear to have the same level of determination as Gauthier, McTavish, and Carlsson. Mailloux has proven himself over the past few years, demonstrating he's ready to move on and play in the NHL. His current lack of visibility may be intentional on the part of the organization who wants him to concentrate on hockey and not attract to much attention.

Because mtl fans for 2 years proposed trash deals for Dubois and now I can see mtl fans do the same thing to Anaheim with zegras. Also never seem someone more bias in thinking zegras for an ahl player in Mailloux is not far for MTL!

I'm certain that you are not claiming Mallioux committed the lesser sin between the two of them, but it's hard to tell with your foot in your mouth.

Thinking like that is why you guys have been sooo successful and stop with the 20 something cups as like 95% were back when there was 6 teams.

A cancer? The guy made a mistake and paid the price.
Xhekaj could be swapped instead of Mailloux if you prefer.

laugh Guy made a mistake, He made an illegal major mistake. Even from his own accordance he should've been banned from ever playing in the NHL.

He's a depth defenseman with a heartwarming story.
