Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 9, 2024
Published: Jan. 9, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
CAR:
This trade hinges on Andersen's injury sending him into retirement. Allen comes in as a replacement for about the same price. They also get a young offensive defenceman in Barron who's defensive liabilities can be masked by Carolina's strong defensive game. The 2nd is for Barron, the 4th is for Allen and a 7th

TOR:
I can already see comments saying the Habs wont help the Leafs and why would the Leafs pay for a cap dump. The fact is this is the reported price of Savard (Tampa paid this a couple years ago for a pure rental). The leafs also need more gritty, defensive defence. Its reported everywhere that either Savard or Tanev would help a lot.

WPG:
Team that needs better center depth gets better center depth. Also one of the worst faceoff teams gets one of the best faceoff takers, added bonus. A first is too much for Monahan but an early 2nd? should work for half price off

PIT:
Also depends on if Pittsburgh makes a push (They have Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Karlsson so they will) and they want to maximize space. Gets rid of 3mil for cheap.

Yeah, the leafs still dont want a bad slow old expensive defender, especially not for anything remotely valuable

Complains about Barron's defensive liability. Make trades. End up with Lindstrom on the top pairing.

Carter won’t waive to go to a non-playoff team and the Savard trade sure but with what cap space are the Leafs paying him. The other 2 Montreal should easily decline.

Respectfully, it’s doubtful the Habs & Leafs conduct a trade. But beyond doubt that we would trade for a washed Savard, nevermind at cost of a 1st + 4th ; pretty clear you are trolling with that offer. Trolling Leaf fans has become this year’s Habs fan’s playoffs; kind of funny, but kind of pathetic too #rentfree

Canes two top prospects are coming in the next two years ( morrow and Nikishin), and I doubt they view either of the players from the Habs as higher priority. I understand the point being made, but don’t see the canes as a target for young D men prospects.

Winnipeg needs a 2C and at best Monahan is a bad at everything but face offs and PP, 4C. Namestnikov is a far better player, so Monahan has zero value to Winnipeg.

He's not worth a high 2nd in any situation to Winnipeg.

Selling low on Barron isn't something the Habs management will be willing to do.

Sometimes people think I write comments with an attitude when in fact I'm just lazy and not very good in english.

Some posts just don't deserve me doing full sentences lol.

Excellent! À partir du moment ou tu appelle ta conjointe "ma blonde", tu es Québecois!

La mienne vient de l'Ile-du-Prince-Édouard, ça me fait pratiquer mon anglais à tous les jours aussi!
